Business Continuity Amid COVID-19

MARCH 18, 2020 AT 13:11

To our Clients, Colleagues and Collaborators:

During a total solar eclipse, the moon passes between the Earth and the Sun. When this happens, the moon blocks out the light waves of the Sun. A phenomenon of glowing white light can then be seen surrounding the eclipsed Sun, which is the outermost part of the Sun's atmosphere called the "corona." Light during obfuscating darkness...

As an architecture practice beset on designing works for humanity, we have always believed in dwelling on positive, affirming energy in approaching our work. Now looking after each other - our families, colleagues, work partners and community - is most important and perhaps we have collectively been reminded of this now more than ever.

In response to the rapidly unfolding COVID-19 pandemic, the health and safety of humanity and our local community is a priority for One One Ten. Like others, we're following advice from The World Health Organization, Health Canada and our provincial and federal governments in order to affect best long-term outcomes for health and safety. Like most, we are adapting to this situation one day at a time.

As a result, we've made a few changes to how we're working.

010110 has started a voluntary work from home strategy for our modest Lethbridge studio along with others who are situated within our cooperative office (with Ready Engineering). We've postponed all non-essential business travel and minimized site visits for ongoing work in construction. As a collective practice by nature, we are already used to working remotely and conducting virtual meetings to maintain our high communication processes and partnerships. We continue to be reachable by email and telephone and open to other forms of communication whereby we can routinely share ideas, documents and instruments of service. During this turbulent time, our secondary goal is to make the necessary efforts to maintain established business schedules and assure you that we're doing our utmost to keep projects running with minimal disruption. We will be monitoring our workflow and will communicate any schedule changes to our clients and teams as quickly as possible.

We kindly request all to please abide by social distancing measures and take care of yourselves, your families and neighbours.

Although it is human nature for some to focus on the darkness before us, I would challenge all to seek out and consider the light that shines in the midst of present challenges in order to remain positive and find opportunity. For many, this will be a time to unite our efforts and allegiances to the human family and concepts bigger than ourselves.

As always, please reach out if you have any questions or concerns. We value your feedback as we meet the challenges of the day and appreciate your understanding.

Sincerely,
